With regard to casualties, Armstrong has the following regarding casualties:
5 May: 6 KIA, 2 WIA and captured, 86 captured.
6 May: 1 KIA, 4 WIA, 26 captured
10 May: 1 KIA, 1 WIA, 1 WIA and captured, 16 captured
12 May: 1 KIA, 2 WIA, 5 WIA and captured, 108 captured
15 May: 12 captured
17 May: 1 captured
18 May: 1 KIA. On this date, regimental surgeon indicated only 20 men remained in the regt.
20 May: 1 captured
26 May: Regimental surgeon indicated only 15-18 privates were present for duty
28 May: 1 captured
No casualties indicated after this date and until 25th Va began moving to Lynchburg on 16 June.
I suggest you get a copy of the book through interlibrary loan and read for yourself the discussion of casualties in the early May-June 1864 period. Armstrong addresses two controversies: the losses on 5 May and whether the losses on 12 May actually occurred on 10 May. The book will also give you the information on casualties for before and after the May-June period.
