Dear Mr. Martin,
The info you sent is not the correct Andrew Jackson Hoffman. My guy was living in Culpeper County as per 1910 census. He was married in Rappahannock County in 1869 to Savilla Wilkes, who died in 1908 and is buried in New Salem Baptist Church cemetery, Culpeper County.

Andrew was found in the census as "Jack" Hoffman, and in other records as "A. J." Hoffman, but he
was enlisted in Company G (Capt. Moffett), 49th Regiment (Col. Extra Billy Smith), Early's Briggade,
Ewells Division, Jackson's Command. He enlisted in Rappahannock County in Spring of 1862, was taken prisoner shortly after and was imprisoned at Elmira Prison, NY and released from there in 1865. He applied for a pension in 1903/04 at Culpeper Court House and received $15.00 #6669.

Not sure this helps any, but giving it a try.

Thanks again,
Wayne Baldwin
