Dear Sir,

I am a history teacher and collector of CW relics
here in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Recently I acquired
5 Moblile Volunteer Corps (MVC) buttons, but have hit
a dead end on finding any info on this unit, and their
role in the Battle of Gaines Mill, Seven Days Battles.
These were found on the site of a known Confederate
field hospital while workers were digging the trench
for the foundations to a new house. If you are familiar
with Albert's "Record of American Uniform and Historical
Buttons", mine are listed in there as AB 4, p.114.

Can you help me on a history of this unit & possibly
which CS staff officer they were fighting under ?
