I had errored ref Alabama Volunteer Corps, meaning
Mobile Volunteer Corps; I see the buttons listed
in Albert's book and somewhere in the distant
past, I have seen one of the buttons and was told
at the time that it was Mobile Volunteer Cadets;
the first Colonel of the 3rd was Col Jones M.
Withers of Mobile looking at the Cadets (Co A of
3rd), five went on to become Colonel, six to Lt
Colonel, eight to Major, 32 to Captain, one to
Ensign and 29 to Lieutenant in various regiments.
