Are we really sure that is Alabama Volunteer
Corps and not the Mobile Cadets?. If you will
poke around a bit in the 3rd Ala Inf, think
you will find some similarities. Company A
of the 3rd was made-up of of Mobile Cadets
under the command of Capt Robert M. Shields
and Company K of the 21st Ala Inf was made-
up of men from Mobile Cadets #2 under the
command of Capt Charles S. Stewart. Although
the 21st, some time after Shiloh was ordered
to Mobile, the 3rd was in the thick of things
in Va until the end.
