Re: Reddick Deshongh, 21st. Ala. Co. F

I'll check on the record at my earliest opportunity. Company "F" was known as the "Baldwin Rifles", which organized on April 11, 1861. It entered state service on June 3, 1861, and became a Confederate command on October 10, 1861.

I'm unaware of any reason that this regiment would be called "Kennedy's". It was called Crawford's after its first colonel, James Crawford, and later called Anderson's, for Colonel Charles D. Anderson. Col. Anderson was in command of the garrison of Fort Gaines which surrendered on August 8, 1864.
