Re: Reddick DISHOUGH, 21st. Ala. Co. F

Actually, Reddick Dishough's father was named Reddick Dishong Sr., his grandfather was named Lewis Deshong, and his greatgranddad's name was Ausustin DesChamps.

There appears to be a lot of different spellings of the name. The family record shows the spelling of Reddick Jr.'s sur-name to be DISHONGH.

The family lived in Hardeman County, Tennessee until the death of the elder Dishongh, who was a Doctor, in the fall of 1843, at which time they moved to somewhere in Louisiana.

Reddick Jr., according to the family record was in the 21st. Louisiana Inf. Co. F until it disbanded, at which point, he was transferred to the 21st. Alabama.

As you said, Alan, this sounds a little odd, and could be a simple error in the handwritten record.
