The ADAH county site lists a "Davis Rangers" from Montgomery County and a "Davis Guards" from Montgomery County. I haven't seen either document, so I'm not sure what assignments (if any) these units received.

Other Alabama companies using the name "Davis":

"Jeff Davis Rangers", Butler, Co. "G", 9th Ala. Inf. Regt.
"Davis Guards", Jackson, Co. "A", 34th Tenn. Inf. Regt.
"Davis Guards", Cherokee, Co. "F", 19th Ala. Inf. Regt.
"Cherokee Davis Guards", Cherokee, Co. "B", 55th Ala. Inf. Regt.

There may be others.

The company names/local designations list on Ken Jones' site comes from 'Personnel of the Civil War' which contains several errors.
