Dear David,

I received your email and then found you here on the board. Thanks for contributing.

I have East Tennessee (5th TN Inf.) and East Kentucky (54th KY Mtd. Inf.) as ancestors and yes, I love their memory too.

I noticed you are descended from a member of the Thomas Legion and wondered if you have read a little article I wrote a few years ago? It's on the "History of the Cherokees" website at http://pages.tca.net/martikw/thomasle.html.

The owner of the History of the Cherokees website is my double first-cousin, Ken Martin. Ken is also a Civil War Buff. Currently he's attempting to find the location of a battle early in the war at a place called Round Mountain in Oklahoma.

Well keep checking on us, this is a board for Alabama Unionists, as well. Anything you can contribute or assist with is appreciated.

Jim
