Re: Dead of Co. "G", 11th Ala. Inf. Regt.

Hello Jeff,

Thanks to the work of Mr. Alan Pitts, the names of the 9 men of Company G, 11th Alabama who died in camp of disease at Bristoe Station, Virginia are now known to us all.

You may be interested to know that their unmarked graves, as well as the graves of other men from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, & New York at Bristoe Station, Virginia are in danger of destruction from a pending housing construction project. More information about the issue is available at www.bristoe.org

A feeble attempt to find the graves was made and abandoned.
I urge you, and all who are concerned with honoring the men who gave their lives, to share your concerns with
Sean T. Connaughton, Chairman at-Large of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors email: sconnaughton@pwcgov.org
Supervisor Ben Thompson, Brentsville District, Prince William Board of County Supervisors,
email: bthompson@pwcgov.org

The hearing for the New Bristow Village project is set for December 19, 2001.

Your help is needed,
Thanks,
John Pearson
