Confederate officers from Alabama who died in serv

This list is not far from completion and should be ready for posting in the near future. I'm sure there will be errors and omissions, but hopefully board contributors will spot them all so that everything is presented correctly. The list includes commissioned officers who served in Alabama commands in field or staff capacity, as well as all company captains. Thus far the list includes 419 officers, including 280 company captains.

I've deliberately left off officers who died after they resigned or their commissions were vacated, so that should account for a few names that are excluded. I am including ensigns and lieutenants acting in temporary staff positions, such as acting adjutants and acting quartermasters. Alabama commands include any organization recruited in Alabama of company size or larger, and could be assigned to regiments from other states, such as the Alabama companies which served with the Jeff Davis Legion, Wirt Adams Partisan Rangers, the 37th, 38th, 40th, 42nd Tennessee Infantry Regiments and others.

I fear I may be stepping out of bounds here, but the names of officers from Alabama who were assigned to command of units from other states have been included. The only two that come to mind in this category are James Deshler and John Pelham. If the list were to include officers born in Alabama who actualy lived elsewhere when the war began and commanded troops from other state, the list would lose much of its identity. For that reason I've attempted to restrict those in this category.

I'm open to other suggestions about who should be considered.
