Re: George H. TODD--Lookup, Please

Hayes,

Appreciate both of your responses. Guess there is no way to determine whether George was really present at the one engagement at or near Camp Eagle Pass.

Re.your second message: Do Albaugh and Simmons cite their source(s)? Their account seems to indicate that TODD was back and forth between TX and AL before and during the war. Very interesting to know what kinds of guns he made.

My understanding is that he was apparently quite successful at something, for he was said to have accummulated considerable property in Montgomery.

Will make this comment regarding the author/compiler of the family genealogy: In instances where I have been able to check his dates and data, he seems for the most part accurate; however, I note a slight tendency to embellish.
But for 1907 (when the book was published), I think that was par for the course in genealogies.

Thanks!!!

Margaret
