Thank you so much for your reply to my posting. Jesse J. Brown appeared on the Cherokee County, Georgia 1850 census. He was six years old. The Brown family was found on the 1860 White Plains, Calhoun, Alabama census. Jessey J. Brown was 13 at that time. During the 1870 census Jaramiah and family were found in Cleburne County, Alabama. He was listed as Jeremiah Brown. His occupation was listed as a farmer. The 1880 Census lists Jesse Brown (age 35), his wife, Mary, (age 34) and their family as living in White Plains, Calhoun County, Alabama. Jesse was listed as being a minister. Reverend Brown died on January 27, 1914 in the Browntown Community, Jackson Co., Alabama. He is buried at Trinity Methodist Church (Burnt Church), near Sylvania, Alabama, DeKalb County, Alabama. A Confederate iron cross marker stands at his grave in the Cemetery at Trinity Methodist Church (Burnt Church) near Sylvania, Alabama. You can email me at nzeigler@mchsi.com. I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Nancy
