excellent, thank you! and yes, you are right, the march april 1863 muster roll does say sick. his brother Joel says he was wounded near Dalton Georgia in his pension request, but i do not find a pension for Robert, although i have not looked in Texas, where his wife ended up after remarrying in 1871. i find that Robert married M.M. Hambrick in April, 1866, i know that they had a son nine months later in Jan. 1867 and he was listed in the voting roll of 1867 in Crenshaw County Alabama wherein he was required to give a loyalty oath and that is the last i can find of Robert McDaniel anywhere. thanks for all your information.
