Hi Allen,

At this point, I am not sure about anything - I just wsnt to get my G-G-G-Grandfather a headstone - we first have to prove his correct burial spot in the Strangers Rest area in Section H in Washington Cemetery in Houston, Texas. William H. Givens Sr. died in 1903, his son Charlie died in 1903 at age 16 and is buried by his father, His son Lee Roy died in 1913 at age of 24, and is buried in Strangers Rest also. All three do not have a headstone, and the Washington Cemetery Trust. They are trying to locate the graves, and get a bronz-colored anodize aluminum nameplates for marking these graves. The total cost, including setting markers in concrete, is $75.00. Another son of William H Givens Sr, aniel Clarence Givens Sr. and his son, Daniel Clarence Givens Je. are buried in Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, TX - They also do not have a headstone. The son of Daniel Clarence Givens Jr, (Daniel Clarence Givens III) a nd his two sisters grew up not knowing anything about their family as they were awarded a ward of the court in eaRLY Childhood - He found me through all the family research I have done for the past 40 years, and now he is wanting to get his father an grandfather a heastone. I told him that his G-Grandfather, William H. Givens Sr. and two of his granfathers brothers who are buried in Washington Cemetery in Houston, Texas also do not have heastones - Our goal is to get heastones for all 5 of our family members. My cousin and I agree that William H. Givens Sr. (If he served in the Civil War) should be represented with a headstone of his deication ro his country. I am going to try and find out if my cousin's father an grandfather served in the military, and if so, they can have a heastone to represent them as well.

This is why I needed someone to help me in regard to William H. Givens Sr. If he served in the Civil War. But the Cemetery Trust wants to know exactly & for sure about the info before they will get a heastone for him. I didn't know who else to turn to but the people on this message board.

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank yoiu,

Sandy
