A. L. Barnett (Allen L.)

A. L. Barnett, on his military records is listed as "died of disease" September 6, 1864. Location not given. He is listed as being "Abs.Fur.Davis Farm 8/21 & Reams Sta. 8/25/64". Family story is that he is buried in a cemetery located in Perry County, Alabama. Would it be likely/possible that his body was sent home or was it more likely/possible that he is buried somewhere in Virginia? Will appreciate any info or thoughts. Thanks.
