I am sure you are correct. I have been told that the indian regiments were removed and reburied in Talequah. Have no proof of this and cannot remember the origion of this information.

Jesse's father Samuel Whiteley was killed by bushwackers shortley after the skirmish at Whiteley's Mills. Samuel lost several sons and sons-in-law during the war.

Does anyone know anything about the 14th Infantry Regiment, Company E?
