My great grandfather, John Gordon Ford, served in the 8th. Enl 9 Jan 1863 in Independence Co, AR. Deserted 7 Sep 1863 near Little Rock, AR. Captured 20 May 1864 in White Co, AR & sent to MP at Little Rock, AR 31 May 1864. Died of congestive fever 26 Nov 1864. This info is on a Confederate Soldiers website. Any way of getting additional info about his desertion, capture, imprisonment and death? Thanks
