I am seeking information about specific groups of guerillas, partisans, and bushwhackers who operated in Norfork and White River basins area during and shortly after the war. This would include the counties of Fulton(which included Baxter), Izard, Marion, Sharp, Stone, Lawrence, and Independence counties in Arkansas, Also in the Missouri counties that face these Arkansas Counties. I have heard a little about Morgan Cochran, Bill Dark, and Charles Cain. The 1976 edition of The History of Baxter County, by Mary Ann Messick, has some information, but I would like to learn more.
