Thanks, Bruce. I hadn't read any newspaper accounts of Colonel Lyon's death, so the first time I ran across it was in the CMH. I had it in my mind that he was killed on the Green River in Kentucky, but couldn't remember any details until Tom's post. Tom is an expert on the 6th Arkansas and his account jives with what I've read -- now I can't remember where I read it! The only thing worse than getting old is the alternative.
