I have some of my students doing historical biographical research and they are starting to hit this board for info. Please do not do all the leg work for them. I am more than glad if you point them in the right direction on their CSA service, especially those who served from states other than Arkansas. Any clues or hints are welcomed, but I want them to learn how to use the resources, even you guys, to find the info for themselves. Of course many of us have hit brick walls and found others who had info we did not know existed. Their first progess report is due and many are panicking now that the deadline is upon them. SOme of the detailed info presented so far has been great though since much I did not have on parents, birth, marriage etc. THey are supposed to be doing the census leg work to determine that part of the research and have the resources to find that. The war records are a little more tedious and any help you give, I am sure, is much appreciated.

Just trying to get them started on how to do the leg work, search various sources and produce something informational.
