I love hearing about projects like this. I taught 9th grade science for 23 years. Each year one of the four reports my students would be required to write was an interview with someone older than 75 years. I gave them questions to ask (usually with a scientific/historic perspective). Parents usually questioned the place for this in a science class. My response was that the MOST overlooked source of information is those who experienced life...our elders. Most of the kids interviewed a relative...and later thanked me for making them do the interview. They had no idea an old person could be so interesting or so informed!
