I have Rugged and Sublime too. We were in a prominent lawyers office in Fayetteville in 1965 to settle Aunt Lilas (Jordan Harrison)will---she left everything to my Dad and Uncle Clyde but she couldn't find him so my father inheired everything and passed it on to me. My grandson, Jacob Jordan Wimmer, now 7 and gdaughter Jessie now 9 became involved in the hurricane of 2004 when we had to leave Florida and went to the Hyatt at "Dorado" Puerto Rico. Jacob was only 1 year old at the time. Had fun in the pool. Mom and Sis both died, 2000 and 2003 and Harry is very ill. I have a friend, Barbara Ray from Camden and Fayetteville--she got her masters at the University and her professor, Miller Williams (she said was married to a Jordan). All from Camden I'm just tracing people. But I did find about the confederates at the plantation, "drinking too much and eating too much food, other peoples and stealing" "Colonel Carter staying at the two-story mansion, second floor and very well supplied with food". "Took the food off the table and from the sugar bowl where is was hidden for the baby..threatened to burn the gin if she didn't roll out the cotton. etc. etc. etc. " A relative by marriage, Mrs. A.Henry Rushing also had stories to tell. However, all the experience I have seen from college (and the time of the G I bill) is that they pretty well take what ever they want and as she said..."feel it is owed to them for fighting". Kay
