Andrew J. Wilcox
In Response To: Re: Major Elliott ()

A.J. Wilcox was born in Arkansas probably near Fayetteville about 1845. He was a Pvt in the 10th Arkansas Inf. CSA. He was one of eight children born to Nathan B. and Samantha Wilcox. Nathan was a boot maker at Fayetteville and I believe born in NY in 1805. Mother was born in PA. Andrew Jackson Wilcox married Fannie on Jan.13, 1874 in Washington Co, Arkansas. They lived at Prairie near Fayetteville and farmed. They also had eight kids, Edward, Charles, Bessie, William, Jessie, Ella, Anna and Fred. Andrew died March 11, 1921. No mention of him driving a stagecoach, but he and his family must have lived around the Fayetteville area most of his life.
