I am looking for information on my great great grandfather. Family lore says he was a stage coach driver that went from Fort Smith, Arkansas to northwest Arkansas. I have almost no information about him except his name was Andrew J. Wilcox. I am guessing his middle name may have been Jackson because he was known as Jack Wilcox.
He married Fanny McCoy in 1874 in Fayetteville, AR. I assume he ran the stage coach prior to that as they were married against her family wishes and he was a 'hired hand' at the time they were married. I heard he a scar on his face and was considered a 'rough fellow'. He must have settled in Washington County after his marriage.
Any information would be appreciated. I really have no idea where to start.
