Re: Jesse C Capshaw, Co. H 19th AR Infantry

Co. H, 19th (Dockery's) Arkansas Infantry, was recruited in Ouachita County. The community of Caney was located in Ouachita County (later included in Nevada County). There was a post office at Caney, Ouachita County, from 1850-1906. The community of Caney in Hot Spring County is a whole different place. The post office wasn't established there until 1910.

The company gathered at Marsh's Store in Caney community to complete their organization and enroll in Confederate service on March 3, 1862.
