The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Thank you Sir! I have just finished reworking an article on the 15th Arkansas, based largely on your efforts, and I would greatly appreciate any corrections or additions that you note. The 15th Arkansas (1st Regiment, Arkansas State Troops) history is critical for a project that Anthony Rushing and I are working on to try and establish Civil War Campaign Participation Credit for the 153rd Infantry Regiment of the Arkansas National Guard. The Center for Military History has recognized the 153rd as the "First Arkansas" but currently their lineage stops at the Spanish American War. An effort was made several years ago to correct this but the CMH refused because there was no connection between the "First Arkansas" and the State Militia. The current units of most southern states have Campaign Participation Credit from the CW and interestingly enough, most track the militia connection through "Volunteer Companies" rather than the Militia Regiments themselves. I am not confident that I have all the field consolidations correct.
