Alan Thompson of the Prairie Grove State Park Museum, provided this great photo of Dandridge McRea in what appears to be a pre-war militia uniform of the Arkansas Guards, a volunteer militia company fromed in the 21st Arkansas Militia Regiment, from White County, which was later commanded by John C. McCauley and apparenty became Co. K, 7th Arkansas Infantry. McRea was commissioned captain of this company on 12 September 1860. McRea later rose to the rank of Brigadier General in the Confederate Army
