Bryan, & Damon

I guess my confusion stims from the fact that Damon list Co. "C" of Josey 15th Arkansas Inf as the "Yell Guards", while on your information on the Gerde's website Co. "C" is listed as the "Yell Rifles". You do mention that the "Yell Guards" did not muster into Confederate Service at the bottom of the page.

My confusion was supported and compounded in the muster roll of Co "C" "Yell Rifles" on the Gerdes website that Capt F.M. McNally is showen as enlisting on May 6th 1861. I don't know whether we are dealing with a composite muster roll of both of the companies in question or not here?

Soooo, I am going to assume that Damons list of companies is while Josey's 15th was in State Service as the 1st Arkansas State Troops, while your list of company order is post mustering into Confederate Service as Cleburne's/Josey's 15th Arkansas Volunteer Inf.

Sorry for splittin hairs here. Too many cobwebs and wasn't thinking too well at 5:30 am in the morning getting ready to go to work.

My real interest here is that appearently there is now a 4th prewar (May 1861) Militia Infantry Company raised in Pine Bluff beside the "Jefferson Guards", the "Southern Guards" and "Clan McGregor". Now to find out who these "Yell Guards" were, and in what unit or units they finally entered Confederate Service with.

I have in my time heard a very interesting story about Captain McNally, which I hope to confirm with better research.
