Do you know if the unit, or some of the companies that made it up participated in the Battle of Wilson's Creek? I know the organization date give is after the battle, but it sounds like some of the companies were in the area at the time. It is interesting that McRea is the Mustering Officer on 17 August and he muster's them in a the 4th Arkansas, when there was a 4th Arkansas State Troops already with the Army at that point.
