Re: 1st Arkansas Mounted Rifles

Hi Phillip! I am very grateful for your assistance and offer of further assistance. I am working on writing a personal family history of my lineal and collateral ancestors (both sides) who enlisted (voluntarilly, conscripted, drafted) for any portion of the war. I have access to Ancestry.com and Footnote.com and of course I can google regimental histories. However, I'm sure I will need answers to some questions and having people who are willing to help who also have access to records. Unfortunately, I have very little family information to go on and must rely solely on any records I might come up with, including census and land records, in addition to muster rolls.

I also appreciate the willingness to help folks who have questions regarding ancestors whose records indicate that they deserted. I recently came across a woman who had such a question and gave her an answer based on what I had seen here on the website. I suggessted that she post a query and she responded that she had and that she had received a reply (but that she still had the lingering question). Deo Vindice!
