Well you know my preference...Arkansawyer! There ain't no part of Kansas ever been in Arkansaw so dont see why we need to be Arkansans. I think a study of the prounciantion of the Quapaw name by the French as well as the Indians of Kansas would show a difference if my memory serves me correct from what I have read in the past.

I have also heard of Arkansawyian as well. I just don't want no part of pronunciation of"Kansas" in the name. I teach all my students that and have for years...we are Arkansawyers or Arkansawyians not Arkansans. They can then make their own choices. Just trying to do my part to indoctrinate students with a true sense of Arkansaw pride.
