It would seem that since the Arkansas Legislature officially proclaimed that the name of this state was to be pronounced ARK-an-SAW in 1881, that as a native of the state we should be called something that sounds like that name of our State as closely as possible.

By the Way the Official Newspaper of the Student body of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, since 1929 when it was Arkansas Branch Normal College, is "THE ARKANSAWYER". I wonder where they originally got the name? And if they would appreciate the meaning attached to the word according to the Encyclopedia of Arkansas?
