Ok, does anyone know where the term ARKANSAWYER came from if the common practise was to add and "I" like ARKANSASIAN.

If ARKANSASIAN was the proper or common term for the natives of Arkansas in the 1800's then ARKANSAWYER would have been a departure from that practise. It would seem that it would have been a product of the 1881 resolution of established the proper pronunciation of the State as AR-kan-SAW. It would also seem to have a connection with the states lumber industry and the saw mills.
