In an order dated June 12, 1864 from camp below Augusta General Jo Shelby sent an order to Acting Brigadier General C. W. Adams directing him to order a number of officers to report to Col. T. H. McCray at Jacksonport. They were Captains Hedrick, Mayo, Magofin, Floyd, McAllister, Bowen, Reson, McMurray and Davis. What do we know about these officers? Any help or references would be greatly appreciated. Apparently they were operating in the surrounding country without higher authority directing them.
