From my book, "Confederate Colonels" (U of MO Press, 2008): Milton Dyer Baber was born 2-3-1836 at Rumsey, McLean Co., KY, the son of Charles and Lucy (Harward) Baber. Died 7-5-1893at his home at Walnut Ridge, AR. Grad U of Louisville law department in 1858. Prewar lawyer in Smithville, AR. Postwar lawyer in Lawrence Co., AR. Buried Smithville Cemetery. He was captain in the 7th AR and Major, 38th AR prior to organizing the 45th AR and becoming its colonel. Delegate of AR Secession Convention. Let me know if you need more.
