Thanks Bruce, I saw the information in your book. What I am looking for is the orders and records placing him on recruiting duty during the summer of 1864. I am further wondering if he wrote any record of his service. It would be most valuable had he done so. His views about his participation at Fort Davidson and the Price Raid would be of immense help. Furthermore, what kind of relationship did he have with McCray? He seems to have been a solid enough soldier.
