The Alexander Papers prove their worth again. Thanks, Danny, for sharing that information. I have long suspected that there was more to Camp Cache than it appeared, but none of the resources I had access to shed much light on the subject. Based on your information, it's apparent that Camp Cache had much more significance. It reminds me of a mini Camp White Sulphur Springs, which as you know was nothing more than an obscure footnote in the historical record, until Doyle Taylor, through some relentless research, was able to document the site as an important Confederate installation.
