Mark, just contacted my library here. They said they have your article so I shall have it copied. In carefully studying Edwards 'Shelby and His Men,' Edwards leaves the reader with the impression that there was far more going on that day than which is understood, at least by me. I have only recently started looking into these events, attempting to sort out the orders in the Shelby Order book with the what was happening. In a follow up inquiry I will be addressing the Question of Carr apparently attempting to flank Des Arc with a landing at or Near Cotton Plant. Given Shelby's activities it appears to me he was doing his best to contain Carr while at the same time organizing the forces in North East Arkansas prior to the Price Raid. This leaves me thinking that Carr wasn't predisposed to press home his advantages. With that said I will read up on what you wrote Mark and see where my thinking is at that point.
