Alan and I were trying to work on the composition of McCray's Brigade, In some of the writing about this emagement Mcrays unit is sometimes referred to a a brigade, sometimes as a regiment. I wondered how early the three units that were McCrays Brigade during the Raid came together and it appears that they were operating togother as early as 6-7 August. I would assume that they were all there at Ashly's Station, but I haven't found a source to prove that.
