I welcome your posting and I appreciate Gerald's concerns over the use of the message boards for commercial purposes. It is alright with me, if you post a question or ask for opinions regarding a commercially offered product, if you don't have any connection with or profit from that posting, which I believe you do not.

I am personally interested in the Lorenz, as several of my ancestors, both North and South were equipped with this weapon at one time or another. I would very much like to see a quality repro. I have contacted a man, I believe is a Lorenz expert, to read and respond to your post and will ask another noted authority to comment on this reproduction. I agree with Gerald that the photos are not detailed enough to determine markings, etc. Also, the shape of the lock, the stock and the barrel band springs, at first glance, don't seem quite right to me.
