In Response To: Austrian Lorenz ()

An interesting post, as I didn’t know that any Repro Lorenz’s were being produced!

But, when I looked at their website, I noticed it was smoothbore .62 cal???
If it was .54, or .58 cal, I’d take more interest. I am most curious what country these are being produced in, as India was making .69 cal smooth bore copies of 1853 Enfield carbines for a while. (My older Brother has one of those)

I have a couple of friends who own original Lorenz’s, the pics on the website don’t show a whole lot of detail, and there is no way to compare with an original, other than look at the Relic sites, and others posted like this one, with pics of originals…

I looked at one of their supposed “Crimea War” Enfield’, and they were not configured properly to the historic rifle they are to represent. That too, leaves me being suspect of the company and their products.

I’d have to say (in my opinion) stay away from it, as it’s just not correct enough to shell out hard earned cash for. It sounds too good to be true, and probably is!
