Well, if it is an original 1860 army, the backstrap should be all steel with the serial # stamped on the bottom where the screw attach's to the brass triggerguard, the triggerguard should be brass & serial #'d, & in front of the T.G. #, should be the # on the frame & also a number on the barrel where it attach's to the frame. A total of 4 numbers should be there. The serial number should also be on the cylinder. The barrel should have the correct; Address Saml Colt Hartford Conn, on the barrel( on the early numbers). If you number is correct, your 60 army is a very early one. Is the cylinder a fluted cylinder? If so, a very desirable Colt & in high demand. If it is a replica, there should be Italian proof marks on it somewhere or it could possibly be a Colt 2nd generation percussion which would have the numbers in the correct locations. Although it can be described as an original Colt, it still is a replica IMO. Not being well versed in the remakes by Colt, I can't tell you where they started the serial numbers on the 2nd generation. But, without seeing the pistol, can't tell you for sure what you have.
