Thanks for sharing your research. The more I look into this matter the more I am convinced that the "experts" are wanting to make the VA purchase of 999 Adams revolvers the Mass Arms Adams when in reality they are the British Dean/Adams. This would obviously have been impossible if Mass Arms only manufactured 1000 revolvers and the Yankees purchased 600 of those revolvers. I guess it would be possible that the US Army shipped those revolvers to southern arsenals prior to the war, which could have been seized by the Southern States. My Mass Arrms Adams is in excellent shape (serial number 28) having no inspector marks and displaying little use. I suppose it could have been a private purchase by a Confederate office, which is noting more that wishful thinking on my part and having no evidence to support same. I am still trying to locate the information on the 200 Mass Arms revolvers that were purchase by John Brown in 1857/58. Any idea on which model they were? Thanks again.
