Re: Identify Rifle

I appreciate the ongoing interest in my request. Pictures of rifle are not available, but I can provide additional info from my notes. The only marking on the lockplate is S. BLASIEN. The barrel markings are; serial number '5162'; a two-pointed shield inside of which are a three-pointed crown and what appears to be the capital letter 'D' below the crown; 'XXVI'; 'd 14 ?'; and '12'. On the trigger guard assembly next to the screw into the stock are the number '145' and an elongated hexagon with what looks like '3*' (asterisk or five-pointed star). The rear sight is a fixed flat piece with a v-notch in the flat top and a horizontal oval opening with v-notch. The barrel is rifled, has three bands with springs, sling eyes on middle band and on trigger guard assembly, and the bayonet locks over the front sight. The bayonet has 3 concave sides; I have no further notes about it. The nipple does not have screwdriver slots. I hope this info is of some use.
