USCT Zouave uniforms

On Sept. 15, 1866, Cathy Williams enlisted clandestinely in the 38th USCT, then part of the 25th Corps occupying Texas. In an interview later in life she recalled that "the regiment I joined wore the Zouve uniform." What was this uniform? Was it peculiar to the 38th or was it worn by the entire 25th Corps. Any information would be helpful. I'm doing a drawing representing Williams for the Missouri Army National Guard military museum in Jefferson City and would like to make it as accurate as possible.
