Re: For Greg Biggs: ANV 4th Bunt. Issues

Ken,
My g-g-grandfather, Pvt. Green Brown served with the 15th Alabama, Co. C, from March of 1862 to August of the same year when he was discharged for Phthisis Pulmanalis (Tuberculosis). I know that he served under the silk flag in the ADAH. I have a friend that I re-enact with whose g-g-grandfather was Ambrose Edwards, who was the 1st Sgt. of the 15th AL, Co. E. Ambrose was captured at Gettysburg and spent the rest of the war at Ft. Delaware. We were discussing the flag the 15th may have carried at Gettysburg (either a 2nd or 3rd bunting). During my research I ran across the references I mentioned above and there looked to be some discrepency. The fly in the ointment seeming to be the statement in the FOTC website about Field's division re-equiping w/ 4th buntings in the spring of '64. If this statement is accurate, then the flag brought home from Appomatox couldn't be the flag the 15th carried at Gettysburg. Just looking for some clarification.
