I saw Mr. Madaus on a PBS show on American Flags earlier this year. I am not certain of the date of the original broadcast. In the video he mentioned that we do not have a national museum for flags. I was attempting to make contact with him, but by finding these email links regarding his death, I learn I am too late to partake in his wisdom. Reading how you all felt about your colleague I know I missed a great opportunity not speaking with him earlier.

To continue on his legacy and similar efforts by others, do any of you know of any effort for a National depository for studying and protecting the heritage of our nation’s flags?

I am in Joplin, Missouri at the crossroads of American and work like to attempt to create a home for such a museum here in the heartland. I would appreciate any insight.
