I know some Confederate regiments were issued national flags as regimental battle flags but could someone help tell me what units at Gettysburg were given these flags. Fremantle wrote that he saw Dorsey Pender's division with "The new Confederate flag had evidently been adopted from this battle flag (referring to ANV battle flag) as it is called". Were there other units besides this one? The famous lithograph that depicts the attack on Culps Hill shows three Second National CS flags among the Confederate line.
