Re: Co. A, 1st Regiment Florida Calvary Volunteers

Dale, thank you so very much for explaning this to me. Now, I do understand it much better. And I can very well understand why my great grandfather did, what he did. I probably would have done the same thing. There is so much about this war, that I don't know about, nor understand. My husband loves history, and did a lot of research on his g.g.grandfathers that was in the Civil War. But never did look to see if he could find out why my great grandfather went from the Confederate side to the Union side. I know that lots of men signed the Oath of Allegiance to the Union, but mainly, I think maybe that was to get out of Prison alive. You know more about that than I do, ha.
But you just don't know how much I appreciate your taking the time to explain this to me. Makes me appreciate my great grandpa much more, now. I was really kind of broken hearted when i thought he had fought for the Union. Thank goodness, I was wrong. Bless you and good luck with your writings. I have read much of what you have written. I admire you for being able to do that, and to have such a knowledge of the Civil War, and interesting places. I hope one day, that I can purchase some of your books, to read.

Della
